This caught my eye on the Vancouver Film School’s website today. Seeing various landmarks in, and around, Vancouver being destroyed and/or blown-up has such an evil appeal to it. Great work and hope to see more from the students.
Here is the ever-friendly Jessica Wan’s apocalyptic Vancouver.

This is the trailer of Ubisoft’s RUSE (how do you pronounce it anyway? roose?)
I really like the overall qualities of this video, nice editing and sounds. Might be better if they made the CG parts with little more details (I know they were intentionally made to look like ‘game’ but the renders were somewhat too clean especially the tanks parts)… but anyway, enjoy!

Macro feeling reality at it’s best… The best part is around 55 seconds in when the guy turfs it into the water. Cracks me up every time.

I feel like I have been really pushing Spike Jonze material as of late but, it is all so worth it. How could I not have another post about the man with the release of the Where the Wild Things Are trailer? As you can probably tell, I am quite excited about the film. How about a big “Hooray” to childhood memories!

Spike chooses UNKLE, whom were used in the original Lakai Skate Video, as the soundtrack this time around. Oh so brilliant!
From UNKLE’s YouTube site:
- ‘Heaven’ was used in the acclaimed skate film Fully Flared directed by Spike Jonze and Ty Evans. The collaboration inspired the directors to take footage and re-edit a sequence of shots that shows the Lakai skateboarding team demonstrating their considerable skills as they navigate through and around various exploding obstacles. With ‘Heaven’ as the musical backdrop, the resulting marriage of sound to picture is quite extraordinary.
